The headline event that started it all! FurWalk is our walking tour of the city, where we take fursuiters, their handlers, photographers, and other friends of the furry community to a different part of the city every month. This is the perfect meet for those looking for incredible photos in the city, discovering a new favorite place, or to casually meet members of the amazing and growing NYC furry community!

Next FurWalk

FiDi
FurWalk 12
Date
Saturday, February 28, 2026
Time
11 AM - 5 PM
Location
World Trade Center & Lower Manhattan
Description
End the month of February with a walk through the Financial District of Lower Manhattan! This walk will also celebrate the one year anniversary of the very first "official" FurWalk, in which about 20 furries gathered for an adventure around this part of the city, unknowing of what this event and the group around it would become.
Past FurWalks
Walk through the past and learn about all the spots in the city we have visited as a group!

Financial District
FurWalk 1

Sunday, February 2, 2025
Date
World Trade Center / The Oculus
Location
The very first NYC FurWalk was accomplished with 2 days notice, 2 days worth of planning, and about 20 furries. The idea to run this idea as an event open to all furries in the area was headed by co-owners Zane and Fane, who were the only people considered "staff" at the time of this event.
This FurWalk tested the waters for what was possible for public suiting in New York City, and the successful outcome of this first-time event would lead to much bigger things down the road (even if they didn't know it yet).

High Line (2025)
FurWalk 2

Sunday, March 23, 2025
Date
Moynihan Train Hall / 9 Av
Location
The second NYC FurWalk was directly inspired by the "BirdStrike" walk back in January, with Fane producing the first map-based graphic pictured on the left. This meet had a bit more planning involved, with Fane scouting the route for potential hazards and stops and creating our first standard-issue badges, all painstakingly produced at our local Staples.
FurWalk 2 was attended by 64 furries, a substantial increase from the 20 the month prior, giving us a better understanding of how big this event could become, and what more we would need to meet the challenge.

Brooklyn Bridge
FurWalk 3

Sunday, April 27, 2025
Date
City Hall, Brooklyn Bridge Park
Location
Our third FurWalk had us leave Manhattan for the first time, traversing the Brooklyn Bridge on a busy Sunday afternoon much to the delight of confused tourists and locals alike. Given the distance between the start and end of the bridge, Fane and Zane created an alternative route across the East River via subway. But to our surprise, everybody opted to follow along with us over the bridge, making for some incredible shots both on the bridge and with the bridge in the background as we approached Pier 1 of the appropriately-named Brooklyn Bridge Park. FurWalk 3 had 64 attendees, including a YouTuber who came to join us for the adventure.
Description

Central Park
FurWalk 4

Saturday, May 31, 2025
Date
5 Av / 59 St to Columbus Cir via Bow Bridge
Location
As of January 2026, FurWalk 4 still remains our most attended "standard" FurWalk, at exactly 101 attendees. This particular FurWalk was also the origin of NYCFM's Code of Conduct Rule 9, "Don't complain about the weather," as all weather forecasts predicted rain when the group was instead met with partly cloudy skies and a beautiful breeze to accentuate our adventure through the southern half of Central Park. Our final group photo was taken at the picturesque Sheep Meadow, a vast expanse of grass with the towering of skyline of Midtown Manhattan behind. Other highlights included a dog statue and the beautiful Bethesda Fountain.

NYC Pride March
FurWalk 5

Sunday, June 29, 2025
Date
Herald Square & 5 Av
Location
The complicated paperwork around this FurWalk made us almost certain that it wasn't going to happen. Yet against all odds, we found our group marching down 5th Avenue with 108 furries amongst our contingent, proudly representing the very prevalent intersection between our fandom and the LGBTQ+ community; the first known official presence of the furry fandom in this parade.
This still marks one of our proudest achievements of NYC FurMeets, and we hope to return again for the 2026 Pride March!
Description

Coney Island
FurWalk 6

Saturday, July 26, 2025
Date
Asser Levy Park to Steeplechase Pier
Location
Our sixth FurWalk was special for both being paired with our very first edition of NYC FurRide and also for celebrating the 24th birthday of our very own Champion Mayor Zane! This walk route was significantly shorter than any of our previous walks, because there was more emphasis on furries having fun in the summer sun as opposed to walking very far.
Even so, our group visited many Coney Island icons such as Luna Park, Steeplechase Pier, and of course, Nathan's Hot Dogs. We certainly will save this walk again for another summer!
Description

Prospect Park
FurWalk 7

Sunday, August 17, 2025
Date
Grand Army Plaze (Brooklyn)
Location
Prospect Park is another large, historically significant city park located right in the heart of Brooklyn, and abundant with many landmarks and sites that almost make one forget that they are in the middle of New York City. This was one of our longest planned FurWalks in terms of distance - however the staff were made to cut the route short due at The Peninsula due to the aggressive August heat. Even so, many attendees enjoyed the nature around Boulder Bridge, the views from the little Prospect Park Waterfall, and even got a bite at Smorgasburg. NYCFM shall return here, under much cooler weather.
Description

Governors Island
FurWalk 8

Saturday, September 27, 2025
Date
Governors Island
Location
Our eighth FurWalk was another combination event with our second FurRide, which was a rather short jaunt between Battery Park and Soissons Landing at the northern tip of historic Governors Island. This walk, attended by about 60 attendees took us through notable sights such as Castle Williams, a shiny bird statue, Outlook Hill, and arguably the group's favorite, Slide Hill.
We could have spent the entire walk time going down those slides, and we will certainly add more time there in the future.
Description

Corona Park
FurWalk 9

Saturday, October 25, 2025
Date
Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Location
One of the longest scheduled days in NYC FurMeets history happened on October 25, 2025 as we scheduled three of our five "mainline" events on the same day, one meant to follow not long after the other. Our centerpiece event took place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in the heart of Queens, navigating the remnants of the 1964 World's Fair conceived by this group's "favorite" New York historical figure, Robert Moses. Highlights included stunning photography amongst the fall foliage and confusing many drivers on the usually traffic-laden Long Island Expressway.
Description

Fort Tryon Park
FurWalk 10

Saturday, November 22, 2025
Date
Fort Tryon & Inwood Hill Parks
Location
The final FurWalk of 2025 took our group through a park that many have said they have never even heard of or been to before. Situated all the way up at the northernmost reaches of Manhattan, Fort Tryon Park offers views of the surrounding area unlike any other in the city. This cliffside park offers incredible views of the George Washington Bridge, the Hudson River, and the historic Met Cloisters. Our day was highlighted by some frisbee frolicking at the bottom of Cloisters Hill, the time for which was extended by our staff. The walk ended at early sunset on Dyckman Pier, bringing a fitting close to our incredible journey of FurWalk for 2025.
Description

Chelsea/Midtown
FurWalk 11

Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 (orig. Jan. 24, 2026)
Date
Midtown Manhattan & Chelsea
Location
This walk was one of the first in which the weather has bested our planning efforts, forcing the team and the community to try to find something to do for the first FurWalk of 2026. However, a looming snowstorm on the weekend of January 24 and persistently bitter, cold winds on February 7th caused the scope of our event to be reduced drastically, incorporating a Penn Station meet, a small FurRide, and hangout down by Chelsea Market. The group of about 60 who did come did have fun, but we know we are all hungry for another proper FurWalk. Worry not, NYC FurMeets. We will be back for the High Line...
Description

Past FurRides

to Coney Island
FurRide 1

Saturday, July 26, 2026
Date
Start: Jay St - MetroTech
End: W 8 St - NY Aquarium
Route
Our very first FurRide took place in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, going from Jay St-MetroTech all just short of the actual Coney Island station at W 8 St NY Aquarium, to better align ourselves with the starting location of the FurWalk to follow. This approximately 40-minute ride featured plenty of wonderful views and sights, especially as the train passed over Smith-9 Sts (one of the highest subway stations in the system) and through southern Brooklyn. With this ride we finally proved that furries can ride the NYC subway together, drawing inspiration from our friends who have achieved a similar feat in Washington, DC.
Description

Gov. Island Ferry
FurRide 2

Saturday, September 27, 2025
Date
Start: Battery Park / South Ferry
End: Soissons Landing
Route
Our second FurRide was also the shortest ride we have on record, taking only about 6 minutes from end to end as the boat shuffles passengers from South Ferry to Soisson's Landing at the northern end of Governors Island. On this warm September morning we had around 60 furries join us for the free ferry ride that would take us to FurWalk 8.
Amusingly, some furs were already there at the other end waiting for us, having caught the boat before we even arrived!
Description

to Queens
FurRide 3

Saturday, October 25, 2025
Date
Start: 34 St - Hudson Yards
End: Mets-Willets Pt
Route
So what's your take?
In our first triple-header NYCFM event, FurRide 3 was the starting point for the entire day, gathering all these furs around at Hudson Yards and going down into the spacious station in one of the city's newest subway terminals. Our group entirely occupied almost the entirety of the first train car, much to the delight and confusion of commuters along the route. Throughout it all, Mayor Zane gave interviews for his parody of the popular short-form series Subway Takes, starting with a very simple question asked at the beginning of this event description.
Description

FurPoc Special
FurRide 4

Sunday, November 2, 2025
Date
Start: Stamford, CT (Metro-North)
End: New Canaan
Route
NYC FurRide, but not in NYC?
Following the presentation of our group's panel on building out local furry communities ("NYC FurMeets: Building Something from Nothing"), we decided to give Furpoc con-goers a little taste of what we do by riding together on the Metro-North railroad from the convention's home of Stamford up to the quieter suburban town of New Canaan. This remains the only time in which an NYCFM event was hosted outside the borders of the five boroughs.
Description

Uptown on the
FurRide 5

Saturday, November 22, 2025
Date
Start: 59 St - Columbus Circle
End: 190 St
Route
You must take the A train, to go to sugar hill way up in Harlem...
A slight wet and chilly November morning was greeted by a sizable crowd of furries and the Mayor of NYCFM playing "Take the A Train"...on the A train. The express nature of this train ride all the way to Upper Manhattan gave furries a good amount of time to relax, pose for pictures, and make some friends with the other commuters who just happened to walk into our train car.
Description

Holiday Train!
FurRide 6

Saturday, July 26, 2026
Date
Start: 2 Av
End: 96 St - 2 Av
Route
Stand clear of the closing doors, please!
This is the iconic line heard by millions of NYC subway commit all around the city. Our group can now claim the accolade of having met Charlie Pellett, the very man behind that voice. This was all part of the New York Transit Museum's annual showcase of operational vintage rolling stock as a part of their Holiday Train special, in which hundreds of other fellow train enthusiasts clamored for a fun ride on this very unique subway ride along 6 Avenue.

Past FurBars

Mama Tried
FurBar 1

Tuesday, May 27, 2025
Date
Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn
787 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232
Location
The purpose of NYC FurBar was to create a more laid-back environment at various bars across the city. We purposefully look into weekday bookings because it means more space for us and more business for a bar that might not otherwise see such a crowd on those days.
That's why we took our first FurBar to Mama Tried, a casual bar just outside Industry City with a beautiful backyard seating area perfect for our group to gather and mingle. We thank Mama Tried for being the first bar to host an event like ours, and we sincerely hope to come back to them soon.
Description

Alewife Brewery
FurBar 2

Wednesday, June 25, 2025
Date
Sunnyside, Queens
41-11 39th St, Sunnyside, NY 11104
Location
Our second FurBar took us over to Sunnyside, Queens, where a particularly punishing heatwave greeted us as we all gathered around this brewery to attempt cooling off with some of their homemade brews, which you could take home if you so desired. The weather was hot, but the vibes were certainly cool!
Unfortunately, as of December 2025, Alewife Brewing has shut down its taproom. We were fortunate enough to visit them a second time for FurBar 6 in November. We will miss this business dearly.
Description

Zombie Hut
FurBar 3

Monday, July 14, 2025
Date
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
273 Smith St #4739, Brooklyn, NY 11231
Location
It was a rainy Monday evening in Brooklyn, and over 30 furries crowded into tiki-themed Zombie Hut, in which all sorts of rum-forward and other tropical concoctions were served. Think of any combination of pineapple, rum, coconuts, and this bar likely has it for you.
Our FurBar lead Maru took the liberty of bringing Hawaiian leis for guests to wear, adding to the aggressively tropical vibes offered here. Given our strong attendance despite not being able to use the backyard, FurBar plans to return to this location in the future.
Description

Industry City
FurBar 4

Saturday, September 6, 2025
Date
Industry City, Brooklyn
68 34th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232
Location
The fourth edition of NYC FurBar had a couple of special things going for it. This was our first "bar crawl" style event, visiting 3 different bars over the span of a warm Saturday evening. More importantly, though, it was the hatchday of our very own FurBar lead, Maru, who was given a signed poster of this event to commemorate the occasion.
Nearly 60 furries gathered to wish him well (a bump from our original cap of 50), including a group of furs from Finland who chose to spend some of their time partying with NYC FurMeets!
Description

The Holler
FurBar 5

Friday, October 3, 2025
Date
Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn
348 Franklin Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238
Location
We celebrated yet another special occasion for this fifth edition of NYC FurBar, using this cozy, queer-friendly, New Orleans-themed bar as the backdrop to our celebration of NYCFM's own Social Media Manager, Saucy/Rune (cawyote / the Mayor's partner) and his 21st birthday - as well as his bday twin Azure!
Naturally, many members of the NYCFM community offered to buy him all of his drinks and shots, making for the perfect celebration of this life milestone. We just love celebrating and having fun at FurBar!
Description

Alewife Brewery
FurBar 6

Thursday, November 20, 2025
Date
Sunnyside, Queens
41-11 39th St, Sunnyside, NY 11104
Location
This is the first time that NYC FurBar repeated a location, and with good reason! The owners responded very positively to our return to the bar, with one staffer even bringing out their own fursuit for the group photo! With this event two days before our final FurWalk of 2025, coming back to Alewife felt like just the right way to send things off (and for the bar as well) </3
Unfortunately, as of December 2025, Alewife Brewing has shut down its taproom. We were fortunate enough to visit them a second time for FurBar 6 in November. We will miss this business dearly.
Description

Zombie Hut II
FurBar 7

Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Date
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
273 Smith St #4739, Brooklyn, NY 11231
Location
For our first FurBar of 2026, we decide to return to the tropics amidst the bitter cold of this winter to enjoy both the rum-based cocktails and celebrate the birthday of NYCFM's founder, Keiron! Those who celebrated with us shared some delicious Chicago-style food from Bobbi's Italian Beef and wrapped up the night with a German chocolate cake, courtesy of our FurBar lead, Maru.
Shoutout to Noelle, the only bartender of the night, for holding down the fort!

Bad Guys 2
FurFlix 1

Sunday, August 3, 2025
Date
AMC 34th St 14
312 W 34th St., New York, NY 10001
Location
What happens when you rent out a movie theater just for the furry community?
For our inaugural FurFlix event, the answer was simple: we sold it out.
FurFlix 1: Bad Guys 2 completely filled the theater at AMC 34th Street, bringing together fursuits, plushies, blankets, and an incredible amount of shared energy. Every seat was taken, and from the moment the lights dimmed, the room was alive with laughter, cheers, and the unmistakable feeling of community.
Seeing our very first FurFlix gathering reach full capacity made the night even more special. It was a memorable summer evening and a strong, exciting start to what will become a lasting tradition!

Reality of Hope
FurFlix 2

Saturday, August 9, 2025
Date
Industry City Courtyard 3/4
237 36th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232
Location
What do furries, VR, Sweden, and a kidney have to do with each other? Those are the key components found in the story of The Reality of Hope, which documents the incredible and life-saving connection between two friends, distant in physical location, but inseparable in the connection they have made through the world of furry virtual reality. This live screening evoked much emotion amongst the audience, especially with the weight of knowing that one of the main subjects of this piece, Photographotter, was sitting with us. In addition to this were a number of very artistically informed short films, making for a memorable summer night in Brooklyn.
Description

Zootopia 2
FurFlix 3

Saturday, November 29, 2025
Date
AMC 34th St 14
312 W 34th St., New York, NY 10001
Location
What do furries, a cold November night, and one of the year’s biggest animated sequels have in common?
They sold out FurFlix 3.
For our third big-screen takeover, we once again filled all 71 seats at AMC 34th St 14 for a private screening of Zootopia 2. As the chill set in across Midtown, our community turned NYC into its own real-life Zootopia — complete with fursuits, themed fits, and nonstop energy from previews to credits.
With the massive hype surrounding Zootopia 2, experiencing it together made it even more unforgettable. Another sold-out night, another incredible chapter for FurFlix. 🐾🍿

Date
Flushing, Queens

Location
We topped off our triple header event- FurRide 3, FurWalk 9, and FurFeast 3- with the warmth of rice porridge in Congee Village- an Authentic Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese Cuisine! This feast featured fried rice, soups, and stir-fries, all served family-style on rotating dinner-table turntables! The star player - of course - was Congee - a silky and savory rice pudding that has been featured in Asian cuisine for thousands of years! This Flushing spot definitely satiated our action-packed day!

Other Events
While NYC FurMeets places its focus on planning our five "mainline" events, we are constantly exploring different ways to bring furry fun into the five boroughs. Our first foray into branching out started with FurThrift, but we have explored other concepts such as FurMuseum, FurCycle, and potentially bigger events such as FurCruise.
If you have any suggestions for new furry event concepts in NYC that you want to see, get in contact with a member of staff or fill our Event Suggestion Form below!

NYC FurThrift
Furry Thrift Shopping

Looking for a wardrobe refresh? Perhaps a new mug for the kitchen? Or maybe something you never even planned on taking home?
That's the beauty of thrift shopping, and NYC FurThrift is our way to share that experience with the furry community. This event has been run two times, with our first run taking place on September 21, 2025 around East Village. The second run took place on October 19, 2025 in the Upper East Side.
Our routes took us through all types of shops, from vintage sellers to small mom and pop businesses. Hope to invite the community to go shopping with us again!
